Health Education Reaching Others and Ensuring Surge Capacity during Public Health Emergencies

This presentation is sponsored in collaboration by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, New Jersey Center for Public Health Preparedness at UMNDJ and the New Jersey Society for Public Health Education.
The purpose of this presentation is to inform individuals about the importance of health education during a public health emergency, explain the role of health educators during a health emergency and to explain health education surge capacity and why it is important. This presentation also describes how you can become involved as a surge capacity health educator by joining your local New Jersey Medical Reserve Corps (NJMRC).
At the end of the presentation, you will be asked to complete a demographic profile. We are gathering information about individuals who complete this module for our records and future research. If you are interested in joining your local NJMRC, we are happy to pass along your contact information and someone will contact you with more information about the NJMRC in your area. Additionally, if you are not interested in volunteering as an NJMRC member, your personal information will not be shared.
Thank you in advance for your time and interest in public health preparedness.
