Description
The widescale adoption of artificial intelligence programs and applications in our business and personal lives is rapidly changing how we engage with the world. Our media and workplaces are saturated with calls to employ new AI products and services that promise to save us time, improve our workflows, and awaken our creative potential. But where did this technology come from? How does it work? Why is it suddenly everywhere? Can we trust the technology and the companies that own it?
Communications with Artificial Intelligence offers an informed discussion of the seismic changes created by AI usage and provides a glimpse of the possibilities ahead. Participants will discuss the following:
• Major milestones in the development of AI
• Everyday examples of AI and its use in multiple industries such as public utilities, medicine and healthcare, energy management, transportation, water safety, and sewage and waste management
• Multiple examples of generative AI
• Issues related to bias, privacy, fairness, and transparency in AI development
• Potential positive and negative impacts of AI on society
• Sources and strategies to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI
