Description

Food waste is not just an environmental problem, it is a public health problem. This keynote explores how communities can improve nutrition in their hunger programs while reducing waste of both food and the irrigation water used to grow it. Using the AmpleHarvest.org nonprofit model, attendees will see how an information-based approach strengthens local food access, support food pantry operations, and help public health professionals encourage safe, community-level solutions that work at scale.
