Description
In a STOP THE BLEED® course, Students will learn basic background on emergency service response, past and present responses to a large scale incident, will discuss current threat modalities and situational awareness to everyday surroundings.

Students will learn to identify different bleeding patterns, how to begin basic first aid and triage of life threats, three quick techniques to help save a life before someone becomes in crisis from massive blood loss: (1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound; (2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding; (3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet. These three techniques along with an understanding of "step up and not back" will empower the student to assist in an emergency situation.
